In our season one finale, Rip leaves the remaining members of the team back in 2016 to continue hunting for Savage alone. After attempting to move on with their lives, each member of the team returns to the spot where the Waverider left them, intent on signaling it to come back. Rip returns and the team is reunited.

Sara confronts Rip and he admits he knew Laurel would die, explaining they cannot go back to save her without sentencing her entire family to die. When trying to come-up with a plan, a helmet in Rip's office relocates itself and the team discovers a note from Kendra. Savage, Kendra and Carter are in France, 1944.

We learn Savage's end game, and why Kendra and Carter are still alive: he needs their blood to activate the Thanagarian technology in the meteorites to erase all of time and plunge the world back to 1700 BC. While Firestorm attempts to harness transmutation, Dr. Stein realizes that Savage is going to detonate the meteorites in three different time periods. After doing complicated math, which, trust us, is always right, he discovers the three time periods where Savage is headed.

The team hatches a plan to kill Savage in three different time periods after exposure to the meteorite radiation renders him mortal. Surprise! After an entire season of trying to kill Savage, the plan finally works and Savage is defeated. Unfortunately, the team fails to diffuse the third meteorite and Rip decides to sacrifice himself to save the team.

After being "reunited" with his family and gaining a sense a peace, Rip wakes to Gideon explaining that she isn't ready to die. He decides he isn't either and sends the meteor into the sun while time jumping back to 2021 to pick-up the team. He proposes they should protect the timeline, as a team, and sends them all back to 2016 to make their decisions, except for Mick. Mr. Rory returns to 2013 so he can say goodbye to his partner in crime and friend, Leonard Snart.

Just as the team come to the decision that they will rejoin with Rip, they are interrupted by... another Waverider? No one knows from when, or why, it has returned, and Rex Tyler steps off the ship to keep them from leaving on their new mission. He proclaims he is a part of the Justice Society of America and Mick Rory sent him back to this point to stop them from getting on the Waverider and head to their deaths.

After last week's episode, we find our team in captivity at the Vanishing Point minus Sara and Snart who managed to hide from the soldiers sent to capture them. While Rory undergoes the induction process again, Druce reveals the Time Masters have been pulling the strings all along. Nothing our team has done this season has been of their own free will.

As proof, Druce shows Rip the Occulus which allows the Time Council to manipulate time to the outcome of their choosing. With an invasion from Thanagar imminent, they have chosen Savage to save humanity. When Rip views the Occulus time stream, he witnesses Ray's death as well as all the actions our team has performed over the season thus far.

Meanwhile, Sara and Snart debate if they should rescue the team back on the Waverider and with a little help from Gideon, come up with a plan to liberate the Waverider and their friends. After time jumping from the Vanishing Point to the Vanishing Point, Sara and Snart rescue the team and determine a plan to destroy the Occulus Wellspring, the source of the Time Masters' power.

But, it's a trap! Our team walks right into the waiting arms of Druce and his cronies. Just when we think all is lost, Jax returns from 2016 and takes out the forces ready to kill our team. Firestorm is reunited and the team rushes off to blow-up the Occulus. Sadly, Snart finally settles the "I will sacrifice myself for the good of the team" battle and stays behind to disengage the fail safe. Our team escapes, including Ray in Rip's pocket, as the Occulus supernovas, killing Snart and Druce.

While Rory vows vengeance on Savage to avenge his partner, we learn that Savage cannot rule the world without the aid of the Time Masters pulling the strings. He jumps back in time with Kendra and Carter in tow, leaving us to wonder how this will all end.

The team is uneasy about having Savage aboard the Waverider and are eager to be rid of him. When they discover Savage has also been manipulating time, they plot a course to the Vanishing Point to turn him in and clear their own names.

Our team members confront Savage one-by-one throughout the episode and seeds of mistrust are sown. Rory and Snart want to return to 2016 while Sara and Dr. Stein are prepared to stay with Rip and fight.

After their confrontation with the Leviathan, the Waverider has suffered a lot of damage and the time drive is taxed from super sizing Ray. The time drive gives out about halfway through their journey and Rip sends Jax to fix it, but an explosion of time radiation leaves him with irreversible damage.

To save Jax, Dr. Stein sends him back through time to 2016 and forces the rest of the team to continue to the Vanishing Point with Rip. After Ray accidentally releases Savage, Rory, Snart, Ray and Kendra attempt to take down Carter and Savage. Carter emerges when Savage threatens Kendra and attacks him, allowing Kendra to finally gain the upper hand.

Sara pilots the Waverider to the Vanishing Point where Rip presents Savage to the time council. In a surprising turn of events, the time council reveals they are in league with Savage and capture Rip and his team.

Left with no other choice, our team journeys to the year 2166 to confront Vandal Savage at the height of his power. After their first kidnap attempt fails, one of Savage's "lieutenants"identifies our team of time travelers in the crowd. Kendra notices the lieutenant is wearing her bracelet from her first life and notifies the team it can be used to kill Savage.

Rip sends Snart and Rory to recover the bracelet and they return with the lieutenant. During Snart's creative interrogation, we learn the lieutenant is really Cassie Savage which explains why Savage has entrusted her with the bracelet. We learn her mother was killed by the Armageddon virus Savage released, although Cassie thinks Per Degaton is responsible for the deaths of millions.

Meanwhile, Ray and Dr. Stein are trying to figure out wha tSavage's super weapon is while Rory and Kendra work on a super weapon of their own. Ray and Dr. Stein come to the conclusion tha tthe super weapon is a giant weapon and Ray works out a plan to stop it from killing the remaining refugees and our team.

In the closing scenes, we witness the fight between Ray and agiant self-aware version of his own ATOM suit. Cut to the team confronting Savage, with Cassie on their side, and Kendra swoops into "save the day." Unfortunately, just as Kendra is about to put an end to Savage, a brainwashed Carter stops her from killing him. The team has to settle with kidnapping Savage instead of Kendra killing him in order to preserve Carter's memories.

At Mick Rory's suggestion, Rip decides to run to the town of Salvation in 1871, a fragmentation in the timeline to hide the team from the Hunters. Everyone on the team is eager to explore the Wild West and head to the local saloon while Rip remains behind on the Waverider.

All too soon, Dr. Stein and Snart cause an altercation over a card game and start a brawl in the saloon, drawing the attention of Jonah Hex. Hex confronts the team and demands to know where Rip Hunter is.  They all return to the Waverider where Rip and Hex have a cryptic conversation about the fate of Calvert, another town in the Wild West that was burned down by a local gang.

Despite knowing the consequences, Rip does nothing to stop the team from returning to town with Hex in order to save the town from the Stillwater gang. Ray becomes Sheriff and drives the gang out of town, granting the town a reprieve from their malice. Dr. Stein discovers a boy who is dying from Tuberculosis in an attempt to gain information on the Stillwater gang's hideout and decides to save his life, whatever the consequences.

Meanwhile, Kendra and Sara track down an older woman Kendra ran into at the saloon and learn that her love for Carter is fated and will likely doom any future relationship she could have.

After locating the Stillwater gang, Hex, Snart, Rory, Ray and Jax kidnap their leader but Jax is also taken captive and the team is forced to leave him behind. In order to save Jax, Rip decides to challenge Stillwater to a duel and we finally learn the reason he has refused to leave the ship or actively help rescue the town. Just as Rip wins the duel, the Hunters appear and attack the team. We learn the Omega Protocol is being enacted and the Time Masters will send the Pilgrim to hunt down the team throughout time, eliminating them from the timeline one by one.

The team heads to 2147, with Rory imprisoned on the Waverider, to stop Vandal Savage. Rip informs the team that a tyrant named Per Degaton rises to power under Vandal's guidance, and ultimately releases a virus which decimates the world population, leaving it ripe for Vandal Savage to take over power.

We learn Per Degaton is a teenage boy and the team wrestles with the idea of killing a child. In the end, they decide to kidnap Per Degaton and remove him from the timelines. In theory this would remove the avenue through which Vandal Savage would rise to power.

While in pursuit of Per Degaton, we are introduced to the world of 2147 in the Kasnia Conglomerate where Ray's atom suits have morphed into robots that police the citizens of Kasnia. Team Kidnapping pursues Per Degaton while Team Robot investigates the technology behind the Ultron-like robots.

After a successful kidnapping and a disturbing revelation about Ray's past, the team checks the timeline to see the effect of kidnapping Per Degaton. We learn Kendra is having flashbacks to the 1920's where her and Carter had their son, Aldous. Sara has a chat with Rory and Rip decides to take matters into his own hands. He disappears with Per Degaton, presumably to kill the boy in order to save his wife and son.

While Rip is away, Per's father, Tor Degaton, reviews video surveillance to find his son. Savage reveals that he knows the people who took his son and reassures him that he will remain unharmed. Savage leads the team to the Waverider through his connection to Kendra and a battle ensues until Rip trades Per Degaton for Sara.

As the team regroups on-board the Waverider, Snart and Rory decide to duke it out (literally) and we learn Rory apparently does have some humanity left after all. After refusing to kill Snart, he reveals to the team the Hunters are after them after his failure as Chronos to bring the team to the Vanishing Point.

In closing, we see the impact of the team's actions on the future. Per Degaton kills his father and names Vandal Savage his proxy at the head of the board. With Savage in charge, the virus is released 5 years earlier then in the previous timeline.

As the show opens, we witness Cronos boarding the Waverider and find out the reason Ray, Kendra and Sara were left behind in 1958. For reasons yet to be determined, Cronos has sent the remainder of the team into a free fall through time and kidnapped Snart.

When our stranded heroes are not rescued within 10 hours of the Waverider's mysterious disappearance, Kendra and Sara begin to lose hope and decide to leave Harmony Falls. After 10 months, Sara has lost all hope of being rescued and leaves Ray and Kendra to find a place where she belongs.

Meanwhile, Rip manages to reboot Gideon and return to the closest point in time after Cronos sabotaged the navigation system: 1960. Just before Ray can propose to Kendra, the beacon he built to signal the Waverider comes online and hails the Waverider.

Cronos and Snart are getting to know one another when a UFO sighting in 1960 announces the presence of the rest of the team. It seems everyone is now off to Nanda Parbat to "rescue" Sara while Cronos follows with the intention of taking down the rest of the team.

In an unexpected turn of events, Sara takes the entire team prisoner to await their death for trespassing at the hands of R'as al Ghul, but Rip requests a trial by combat in an effort to save the team from their almost certain death. When R'as nominates Sara to take his place, Rip does the same, leaving Kendra to face Sara and appeal to whatever humanity she may have left. As Sara hesitates to kill Kendra, Cronos storms in, R'as releases the team, and an epic fight sequence ensues. Snart reappears in the nick of time to prevent the team from killing Cronos and reveals to the team he is really Mick Rory.

The team returns to the Waverider with all team members accounted for and tries to decide Rory's fate. He remains alive and a prisoner, for now, and Rip announces there is one place in time where he knows they can find Vandal Savage for certain: 2147.

It's time for a little Back to the Future with some drag racing, rock and roll, ice cream parlors and good ole creature feature scares!

Our team lands in 1958, thanks to the new information from Captain Baxter last week, and have to try to fit in to the social standards of the times. Finding it especially difficult are Jax, Kendra and Sara, due to the racial and female limitations of the times.

They discover that Savage is playing doctor, creating hawk like creatures to build an army, and must figure out how to stop him, but things do not go their way, as Jax is caught and subjected to his experiments.

No sooner did we get left hanging last week on who is that Green Arrow, this episode picks it right back up and gives us answers!

Our band of heroes find themselves in a burning Star City in the year 2046, with a damaged spaceship, and caught in the middle of what looks like a gang war.

At first they try to hide, but in seeing the Green Arrow under fire, Sara runs to his aid and most of the team follows. Once they gain his trust, he returns the help by leading them through the embattled city to find the parts they need to fix the ship. Which, leads them to a much older, battered, and one armed Oliver Queen.

In the conclusion to the Russian cold war saga, the fragmented team does their best to survive in a gulag while the others work out a plan to rescue them.

Rip worries Dr. Stein will not be able to withhold secrets until the team is able to rescue him, so he gives Sara a side mission to kill Dr. Stein if the plan fails.

Meanwhile, Captain Cold infiltrates the prison to rescue Heatwave and (maybe) Ray. When things go sideways, Jax and Kendra come to the rescue while Rip tracks down Savage.

In the end, the team saves Dr. Stein with explosive consequences. Chronos shows up once again and knocks our team into the year 2046.

Feb 22, 2016

In this week's episode, our band of heroes travel back to the 80's in pursuit of Vandal Savage.

After breaking into the Pentagon, our team quickly falls apart as things begin to take a turn for the worse. Using the intel they have managed to gather, the team tracks Vandal Savage to Russia where his team of scientists are trying to create a Soviet Firestorm.

We are introduced to a new foe, Valentina Vostok, the nuclear physicist working to create the Soviet Firestorm matrix. In our first mission, Ray Palmer and Leonard Snart try to seduce Vostok in an attempt to learn about her top secret research. When they fail, Dr. Stein accompanies them to the research facility with dire consequences for the team.

In a side mission, Rip, Heatwave and Jackson investigate the appearance of Chronos in the timeline which leads to a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, Sara and Kendra remain on the ship to tame their inner warriors.

Feb 22, 2016

The team realizes they cannot kill Savage, so instead decide to go after his assets and try to weaken him that way. The team encounters Savage's devoted followers while recovering Carter's body

Captain Cold has his own agenda, taking Heatwave and Jax to steal the very emerald his dad was caught stealing, which led to his imprisonment and becoming an angry, abusive father. Through his endeavors to save his father, we learn more about preserving the timeline.

Dr. Stein and Ray, while finding a way to save Kendra's life, also have to deal with their differences.

Feb 20, 2016

In this second part of the pilot, the team confronts Vandal Savage at a secret weapons auction. Dr. Stein accidentally reveals the team "in this era" and they now have to deal with the repercussions.

Dr. Stein, Jackson, and Sara go to visit Dr. Stein as his younger self in college to try to borrow a device he designed that controls alpha particles. This of course does not go according to plan, and they now have to trick his younger self and not mess up the timeline any further...

Flash and Harley here, the Wonder Twins, with our initial reactions and first stab at covering the new DC show Legends of Tomorrow. This was originally included in a three show roundup podcast, so we cut out just the Legends segment to make it our first official episode for the new show. This first podcast is a trial run and not full length, but we will expand our discussion starting in Episode 2.

The pilot picks up pretty soon after the events in Arrow and Flash where our characters were first introduced, and find themselves gathered together by Rip Hunter, a time master from the future. He explains to them that Vandal Savage is a dangerous immortal who seeks to take over the world by destroying it first, so he has recruited them to travel through time to help stop him before that happens.
