No sooner did we get left hanging last week on who is that Green Arrow, this episode picks it right back up and gives us answers!
Our band of heroes find themselves in a burning Star City in the year 2046, with a damaged spaceship, and caught in the middle of what looks like a gang war.
At first they try to hide, but in seeing the Green Arrow under fire, Sara runs to his aid and most of the team follows. Once they gain his trust, he returns the help by leading them through the embattled city to find the parts they need to fix the ship. Which, leads them to a much older, battered, and one armed Oliver Queen.
In the conclusion to the Russian cold war saga, the fragmented team does their best to survive in a gulag while the others work out a plan to rescue them.
Rip worries Dr. Stein will not be able to withhold secrets until the team is able to rescue him, so he gives Sara a side mission to kill Dr. Stein if the plan fails.
Meanwhile, Captain Cold infiltrates the prison to rescue Heatwave and (maybe) Ray. When things go sideways, Jax and Kendra come to the rescue while Rip tracks down Savage.
In the end, the team saves Dr. Stein with explosive consequences. Chronos shows up once again and knocks our team into the year 2046.
In this week's episode, our band of heroes travel back to the 80's in pursuit of Vandal Savage.
After breaking into the Pentagon, our team quickly falls apart as things begin to take a turn for the worse. Using the intel they have managed to gather, the team tracks Vandal Savage to Russia where his team of scientists are trying to create a Soviet Firestorm.
We are introduced to a new foe, Valentina Vostok, the nuclear physicist working to create the Soviet Firestorm matrix. In our first mission, Ray Palmer and Leonard Snart try to seduce Vostok in an attempt to learn about her top secret research. When they fail, Dr. Stein accompanies them to the research facility with dire consequences for the team.
In a side mission, Rip, Heatwave and Jackson investigate the appearance of Chronos in the timeline which leads to a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, Sara and Kendra remain on the ship to tame their inner warriors.
The team realizes they cannot kill Savage, so instead decide to go after his assets and try to weaken him that way. The team encounters Savage's devoted followers while recovering Carter's body
Captain Cold has his own agenda, taking Heatwave and Jax to steal the very emerald his dad was caught stealing, which led to his imprisonment and becoming an angry, abusive father. Through his endeavors to save his father, we learn more about preserving the timeline.
Dr. Stein and Ray, while finding a way to save Kendra's life, also have to deal with their differences.
In this second part of the pilot, the team confronts Vandal Savage at a secret weapons auction. Dr. Stein accidentally reveals the team "in this era" and they now have to deal with the repercussions.
Dr. Stein, Jackson, and Sara go to visit Dr. Stein as his younger self in college to try to borrow a device he designed that controls alpha particles. This of course does not go according to plan, and they now have to trick his younger self and not mess up the timeline any further...
Flash and Harley here, the Wonder Twins, with our initial reactions and first stab at covering the new DC show Legends of Tomorrow. This was originally included in a three show roundup podcast, so we cut out just the Legends segment to make it our first official episode for the new show. This first podcast is a trial run and not full length, but we will expand our discussion starting in Episode 2.
The pilot picks up pretty soon after the events in Arrow and Flash where our characters were first introduced, and find themselves gathered together by Rip Hunter, a time master from the future. He explains to them that Vandal Savage is a dangerous immortal who seeks to take over the world by destroying it first, so he has recruited them to travel through time to help stop him before that happens.
